But Angelo turned his life around after he was shot and now lives a very quiet and disciplined life as he tries to stay on the straight road.

Meet the Actor who plays Angelo

Nick is a 26 year old actor, radio presenter and writer. He began acting in high school where he participated in drama festivals and won the Best Actor award twice. After high school, he got into local theatre groups and landed numerous lead roles in over 25 plays with theatre company Phoenix Players between 2005 & 2009. Nick received the Best Theatre Actor in Kenya award in 2008. In the United States International University – Africa’s Michezo Afrika, he wrote and directed plays. In 2010, Nick branched out into screen acting after landing a lead role in local TV series Higher Learning. In the future he plans to write, produce and eventually direct his own films. “There are a lot of untold African stories and since I have made that observation and have been blessed with the talent, I might as well take up the responsibility to be the one to tell them. I hope that Shuga: Love, Sex, Money will be one of those African stories that will inspire as well as educate and entertain the African audience and beyond for it is one of those many poignant stories from Africa that need to be told... and told well.”
